FeelMyMac is local by design. We do not build profiles from your interaction with the app.

The short version: your Mac stays yours.
FeelMyMac does not create a customer account, collect app-usage analytics, transmit interaction data, or include advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. This note explains the limited data processing around the app, this website, demo downloads, support, purchases, complimentary grants, and licensing.
Who is responsible
BinaryBears LLC operates FeelMyMac and is the controller for the processing described here. Support is available through @leonardocurtone on X.

The macOS app
The app processes pointer, touch, scrolling, click, and keyboard events locally when you enable the corresponding feedback. It uses those signals only to create the haptic or audio response at that moment. It does not record typed text, create a behavioural profile, or send those signals to us.
FeelMyMac stores its settings, such as selected feedback, surface, and volume choices, locally in macOS preferences. It may inspect a connected trackpad locally to determine whether the requested haptic capability is available. These settings and checks are not transmitted to us. They remain on your Mac until you change or remove the app’s local data.
Accessibility permission is requested only when required for an interaction you enable. The permission lets the app respond to that interaction; it does not give us remote access to your Mac.
When you activate FeelMyMac, the app sends the license key you enter, a random installation identifier, and the app version to our licensing service over HTTPS. The service returns a signed activation receipt stored in your macOS Keychain. It does not receive your trackpad data, keyboard input, settings, hardware serial number, or a persistent hardware fingerprint.
FeelMyMac revalidates a complete license silently about once a week, without delaying startup. It sends only the random installation identifier, a protected activation token, and app version. A successful check provides a signed status valid for up to 30 days of offline use; network failures are not treated as revocation. Choosing Check for Updates also validates the status and separately confirms that this is the currently active installation before looking for a signed update.
The free demo
The demo works offline with no time limit. It does not require online activation or send an installation identifier, license key or demo credential to use its included features. We do not keep individual demo activation records or start counters.
Downloading the installer or choosing Check for Updates in demo mode contacts our distribution service. These requests do not include a demo identifier or licensing credential. Cloudflare and the asset host process the ordinary network request data needed to deliver and protect those downloads, such as IP address and request metadata.
This website
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like other web hosts, Cloudflare processes request data such as IP address, browser and device information, referral URL, and security or performance metadata to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare acts as our hosting provider; see its Privacy Policy for its practices.
For the separate API Tester download, we keep an aggregate count of initial file requests served by this site, grouped by tester version and UTC day. This counter uses no cookies and stores no IP address or visitor identifier. It measures served requests, not unique people, completed transfers or installations.
We store your chosen colour theme in your browser. This is a functional preference only; it is not used to identify or track you.
While a purchase confirmation is pending, this browser tab may store its checkout reference for up to 30 minutes so that reloading the page can retry confirmation. This functional session storage is cleared when the license is ready or the reference expires; it is never sent to our optional analytics or advertising providers.
Optional analytics
If you allow website analytics, we use campaign and referring-site labels to understand where purchases come from, as described below. This site also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics to help us understand aggregate page performance and usage. This optional processing remains off until you allow it and does not alter how the app works. You can change your choice here at any time.
With your permission for the analytics described in this notice, we also use PostHog to measure page visits, selected clicks on links and buttons, scrolling depth, time spent on public pages, and confirmed purchases. An earlier analytics choice does not activate PostHog: we ask you to acknowledge this updated use first. These events help us understand navigation and where people stop before downloading or purchasing.
On the home, demo and license pages, we collect click and pointer movement positions to build heatmaps showing which areas people use. This includes the page path, viewport size, interaction type and position. We also collect Web Vitals on public pages where your browser supports them: numerical measurements of loading speed, responsiveness and visual stability.
These analytics exclude form contents, private text, audio, console logs, network request or response bodies, and canvas drawings. Navigation, click, heatmap and performance measurement exclude the license recovery and purchase confirmation pages and do not run on Stripe's hosted payment pages. Only the limited PostHog purchase event described below can be sent from the confirmation page. Heatmaps and these measurements use your Website analytics choice; session recordings require the separate permission described below.
PostHog uses a randomly generated pseudonymous browser identifier, stored in a cookie that expires after up to 30 days without use, to connect these events within the same browser. Events may include the page path, browser and device information, and permitted campaign labels (UTM source, medium, campaign and content) or referring-site labels. We do not identify visitors by name or email, send full query strings or private download links, or collect interaction data from the macOS app. PostHog receives the ordinary connection information needed to receive requests.
After our server confirms a paid purchase, the confirmation page may send PostHog the amount, currency and an opaque transaction identifier to avoid duplicate counting. It does not send your email, license key, Stripe checkout reference or payment-card details. An event can be missing when consent is declined, the page is not visited or the browser blocks analytics; this does not affect your payment or license.
This site currently sends analytics to PostHog Cloud in the European Union, including events from visitors in other countries. PostHog acts as our analytics service provider; see its Privacy Policy. Withdrawing analytics consent stops collection and removes this site's PostHog browser identifier. It also turns off session recordings. It does not erase events already processed by PostHog.

Optional session recordings
If you separately allow session recordings as well as Website analytics, PostHog can reconstruct how you move through our public pages: the displayed page, pointer movements, clicks, scrolling and navigation. We currently select 100% of visits with both permissions for recording. The recording component loads only after both choices have been accepted and the visit is selected for recording. Choosing analytics alone does not allow recordings, and an earlier analytics choice never grants recording permission.
These replays help us understand which controls people use and where navigation becomes difficult. Form inputs and private text are masked before they leave your browser. Recordings exclude the license recovery and purchase confirmation pages, as well as the external Stripe payment pages. We do not record microphone or website audio, console logs, network request or response bodies, or canvas drawings. A replay covers only our permitted website pages, not your desktop, other websites or interactions with the macOS app.
Recordings use the same pseudonymous browser identifier and PostHog Cloud region described above. You can turn off recordings while keeping analytics enabled. Withdrawing analytics consent also withdraws recording permission; either withdrawal stops recording, but does not erase data already processed. Recordings are retained for up to 30 days under the current project settings.

Where purchases come from
While your measurement choice is still pending, links between our public pages may carry only the campaign labels or referring-site name already available on your visit. This keeps that information available if you choose to allow measurement on a later page. It does not write a source record to browser storage or attach one to checkout before consent, and it stops after a saved refusal. Google click identifiers and private purchase, recovery or download references are not carried in those links.
After you acknowledge the choices above and allow website analytics or advertising measurement, we may save the last recognizable source of your visit in this browser for up to 30 days. This consists of campaign labels included in a link (source, medium, campaign, campaign ID, content, and advertising network), or the hostname of a referring website, plus the capture time and your consent choices. Internal links and returns from a payment provider do not replace that source.
When you start checkout, we send those labels to our Cloudflare service and attach them to the Stripe checkout so they remain linked to its payment confirmation. Stripe's verified payment notification lets our server include the confirmed purchase in our source report even if you close the confirmation page. We retain the order's source labels with our purchase records. This report is our own measurement; it does not prove that an advertising platform caused a sale or replace Google's attribution.
With advertising measurement allowed, the presence of a Google advertising click identifier can identify Google as a paid source when campaign labels are absent. Our source record never contains the click identifier itself, a complete referring URL, your IP address, or a browser fingerprint. The separately consented Google tag may process click identifiers as described below.
If neither category is allowed, we do not save or attach a source record. The purchase still works and appears in our sales totals with an unknown source. Disabling both categories clears the browser source record; disabling advertising measurement also removes a source inferred only from a Google click identifier. Changing a choice does not erase source labels already attached to an order. Different devices, cleared browser data, missing labels, or purchases after the 30-day window can also leave the source unknown.
Optional advertising measurement
Only if you separately allow advertising measurement, this website loads the Google tag for Google Ads. Google may store advertising click identifiers in browser cookies and process your IP address, browser information, a limited page address, and advertising click identifiers to measure whether our ads lead to purchases. Google receives no requests from this tag before that consent.
After our server confirms a paid live purchase and prepares the license, the confirmation page may send Google the purchase amount, currency, and a pseudonymous transaction identifier to avoid duplicate counting. We do not send your email address, license key, Stripe checkout reference, or payment-card details to Google. Enhanced conversions and personalized advertising are disabled; this tag is not used to build remarketing audiences.
Your choice does not affect checkout, payment, license delivery, or the app. A purchase may not be measured if consent is declined, the confirmation page is not visited, or a browser blocks the tag. Google processes measurement information under its Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Use the buttons below to withdraw or give consent. Withdrawing consent clears this site's advertising attribution cookies, then reloads the page to remove the tag. It does not delete information already processed by Google.

Licenses, purchases, and support
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full payment-card details. Stripe may process transaction, payment, fraud-prevention, and contact information under its Privacy Policy. We use the purchase email, Stripe purchase reference, encrypted license credential, random installation identifier, and minimal delivery records only to fulfil the purchase, provide secure downloads and recovery, operate licensing, meet legal or accounting obligations, and answer purchase support.
For an authorized complimentary license, we process the recipient email, the reason category for the grant, the encrypted license credential, the random installation identifier, and minimal delivery records. No Stripe transaction or payment record is created for that grant.
Delivery emails are sent through Resend. It processes the recipient email and delivery metadata to send the message on our behalf. We use Cloudflare to host the licensing service and encrypted license records.
Signed and notarized app releases are stored in a private GitHub repository. After an authorized download or update request, our service may redirect you to a temporary GitHub download address. GitHub may process the IP address, request, device, and download metadata needed to deliver that file under its Privacy Statement. Cloudflare, Resend, and GitHub do not receive app interaction data.
Support is offered through X. A direct message is processed by X under its own Privacy Policy. Please do not send payment-card details, passwords, or other sensitive information in a message.
Why we process this information
We process purchase, license, delivery, and recovery information because it is necessary to perform the purchase contract or administer an authorized complimentary grant and provide the perpetual license. We process records needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, service security, and legal claims to comply with legal obligations or pursue our legitimate interests in protecting the service. Optional website analytics, session recordings and advertising measurement rely on separate consent choices, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
Our providers may process information outside your country. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the relevant provider and BinaryBears LLC use the transfer mechanism and contractual protections applicable to that service.
Retention, sharing, and your rights
We do not retain app interaction data because we do not receive it. Your separate website analytics, session recording and advertising measurement choices are kept in your browser for up to 180 days; your theme stays there until you clear it. Optional browser source records have a 30-day attribution window and are removed when next checked after expiry. The PostHog browser identifier expires after up to 30 days without use; events already collected are retained under our PostHog project's retention settings. With advertising consent, Google's attribution cookies expire according to their cookie settings. Cloudflare, PostHog, Google, Stripe, Resend, GitHub, and X retain their own records under their respective policies. Purchase and complimentary-license records are kept only for as long as needed to provide the perpetual license, recovery, support, and any applicable legal or accounting duties.
We do not sell personal data or use this site's measurement data for personalized advertising. We share data only with the providers described above when necessary for hosting, optional analytics and advertising measurement, payment, email, secure delivery, or support. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent. Contact us using the route above; you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page before introducing a material new type of data processing and will change the effective date when we do.
